Critical Care Nurse

Your Opportunity:
As a critical care nurse with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our busy combined ICU/CCU. Under the direction of the Unit Manager, or designate, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. This is a front-line nursing position that requires excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Implement and evaluate nursing care, including medication management and treatment plans
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
- Recent Adult Critical Care experience and successful completion of a recognized Critical Care course
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS certification
