Key Responsibilities- Evaluate Daily Operations: Monitor and assess the performance of our transportation department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Monitor Department's Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, and driver safety records.
- Prepare Reports for Senior Management: Provide regular reports to senior management on the performance of the transportation department, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
- Supervise Staff: Lead and manage a team of transportation staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Train Staff: Develop and implement training programs to ensure that transportation staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Manage Finances or Budget: Oversee the financial management of the transportation department, ensuring that all expenses are properly accounted for and that the department is operating within budget.
- Arrange for Shipping Documentation and the Tracking and Tracing of Goods in Transit: Ensure that all necessary shipping documentation is completed accurately and on time, and that goods are properly tracked and traced throughout the transportation process.
- Ensure Transport Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that all transportation activities are in compliance with relevant regulations and laws, including those related to safety, security, and environmental protection.
- Oversee the Scheduling and Dispatching of Vehicles and Goods: Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods, ensuring that they are delivered on time and in good condition.
- Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Experience an asset.
- Work Setting: Trucking company, Warehouse.
- Supervision: 5-10 people.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Large workload, Work under pressure.
