Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join Aspire Bakeries as a Millwright Apprentice, where you will learn and develop skills associated with performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting equipment. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative, proactive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of equipment and facilities.
  • Effectively use the SAP maintenance system to create work orders, complete PMs, and find parts.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment, and perform routine maintenance tasks such as shop cleanup and equipment changeovers.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including log books and daily shift reports.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality, and quality.
  • Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in the SOP manual, and follow GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in the employee handbook.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, work from heights, and in tight spaces.
  • Must attend and be successful in the in-school portion of training as outlined by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.

Work Environment

Aspire Bakeries is a 24-hour/7-day manufacturing operation. The temperature of the environment within the production area can range from 58-80 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the department. The production areas are often loud, exceeding 85 decibels, due to the machinery that is running; earplugs are required to be worn while in the bakery at all times.
