About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior UX Researcher to join our team at Microsoft. As a Senior UX Researcher, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience of our products, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Viva.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute UX research plans to inform product development decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, product management, and engineering, to ensure that research findings are integrated into product development.
  • Communicate research insights and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and compelling reports, presentations, and design reviews.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UX research and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and excellence in our products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field, and 6+ years of UX research experience.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research impacting product and business direction on products leveraging AI and large language models.
  • Knowledgeable about responsible AI and inclusive design with a track record of incorporating these principles into your research practice.
  • Proven ability to champion and drive plans for research programs for widespread impact across a division, across the company, or within the industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Command of all aspects of UX research across a product cycle; experience across a range of UX research approaches and methodologies.
  • Experience in articulating the implications of research insights in clear and compelling ways; translating research findings into actionable opportunities and recommendations.
  • Verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Active thought leadership in user experience issues and trends.
