About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Manager, IT Sourcing at Thomson Reuters. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in driving the company's IT sourcing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category plans that align with the company's IT strategy, working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and determine the right sourcing strategies.
- Collaborate with various functions, including Legal, Risk & Compliance, ISRM, Technology, and Business stakeholders, to drive value and achieve business objectives.
- Lead large, complex negotiations with key suppliers to secure the best possible deals for the company.
- Apply the Global Procurement methodology effectively and provide guidance on the proper use of procurement policies to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to rationalize suppliers, simplify the supplier landscape, and leverage spend through consolidation or aggregation of demand to drive commercial efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Provide leadership and support to junior members of the procurement organization, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Represent Procurement in governance forums with strategic IT suppliers, building and enhancing relationships to deliver high levels of service while maintaining best-in-class standards.
Key Deliverables
- Category plans and sourcing strategies developed and approved by all relevant stakeholders.
- High-quality collateral, sourcing project artifacts, and negotiated supplier agreements developed and approved in accordance with the Global Procurement Methodology at each stage of the sourcing lifecycle.
- Significantly reduced third-party risks with mitigation strategies for each IT sourcing initiative.
- Significant and sustainable annual reduction in Thomson Reuters cost-base, demonstrated using a robust savings methodology consistently applied and rigorously approved.
About You
We're looking for a seasoned IT sourcing professional with a strong track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. If you have:
- A Bachelor's degree, procurement certification, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5-10+ years of experience in IT sourcing, including successful development and negotiation of IT agreements in excess of $20M value.
- Experience as an experienced sourcing practitioner, with a deep understanding of best-practice sourcing methodology, contract terms, and contractual language.
- Knowledge of the sourcing marketplace and trends in the industry, as well as regulatory climate, including the ability to assess the impact of change in the context of the sourcing strategy.
- A proven track record of delivering significant and sustainable cost reductions through effective implementation of a coherent IT sourcing strategy.
- Experience working with large enterprise software companies, such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Salesforce, and SAP.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Expert analytics and ability to develop coherent and high-quality sourcing collateral, including business cases, contract summaries, presentations, and RFx materials.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and written, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Self-starter who can take ownership and lead projects independently.
