Community Support Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team at Independent Living Nova Scotia Association. As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with various needs, including personal and social adjustment, socio-economic needs, and programs dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Key Responsibilities- Case Management: Prepare reports and case histories to document client progress and needs.
- Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining program statistics and evaluating treatment program effectiveness.
- Client Support: Accompany clients to appointments and social outings, and assist with special needs.
- Team Collaboration: Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Program Development: Assist in developing and implementing behavior management programs and other initiatives to support client success.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Certifications: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Mandt System training, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work independently, and strong interpersonal skills.
This is a casual position, with the possibility of shift or on-call work. The work environment is fast-paced, and the ability to work independently is essential. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal record check, driving record check, and Adult Abuse Registry check.
