Executive Director of the Toronto Dementia Research Alliance

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Executive Director to lead the Toronto Dementia Research Alliance (TDRA). As a key member of the University's Faculty of Medicine, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of TDRA, a collaborative network of academic and research institutions working together to advance dementia research and care.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-term plans and strategies to achieve TDRA's vision, mission, and research goals, ensuring the network's sustainability and growth.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, and industry partners, to maximize clinical synergies and research capabilities.
- Research and Innovation: Lead cutting-edge research initiatives, promote translational research opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to address dementia-related challenges.
- Communication and Advocacy: Effectively communicate TDRA's objectives and activities to the research community, government bodies, and private sector organizations, advocating for dementia care and research.
- Managerial Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and support to the TDRA team, ensuring the successful implementation of research goals and objectives.
- Academic Qualifications: MD degree with certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent in any area of medicine, or a PhD in brain health, cognitive impairment in aging, or related discipline.
- Research Experience: Proven track record of excellence in research and teaching, with a strong focus on dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or related fields.
- Leadership and Management: Demonstrated exceptional leadership and management skills, with experience in strategic planning, team management, and collaboration.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
