Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Boiler Operator/General Laborer to join our team at G3 Terminal Vancouver. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Plan, organize, and operate various pieces of equipment to achieve an efficient quality operation that meets or exceeds planned results.
  • Quality Control: Monitor all equipment to ensure customer quality requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs to ensure skills are current with the General Labourer duties.
  • Communication: Co-ordinate operations with Control Room through effective communications.
  • Safety and Compliance: Accountable for Safe Operation of the General Labourer duties ensuring Safe Operations Standards are adhered to. Participates in and recommends safety initiatives to improve the department.
  • Housekeeping: Ensure that housekeeping performance standards in areas of responsibility are met or exceeded.
  • Maintenance: Monitor operational integrity of equipment. Reports and follows-up with any maintenance requirements to Operations Manager and maintenance department.
  • Documentation: Completes all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Interdepartmental Relations: Maintaining constructive working relations with all terminal departments and outside agencies.
Requirements
  • Certification: Preference will be given to those who hold valid 5th Class or higher Power Engineers certification.
  • Training and Experience: Applicants must participate in all required training as set out by G3 and have a thorough understanding of the Facility. Demonstrated initiative, leadership, diplomacy, and the ability to contribute to the efficient operation of a terminal elevator are essential.
  • Skills: Ability to plan, organize and coach as well as oral, written, and job-related computer skills are required.
  • Availability: Ability to work shift work on a continuous operating schedule.
