Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at HIGHMILES TRUCK & TRAILER SERVICE LTD. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods over long distances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Mountain Driving: Demonstrate expertise in driving on mountainous terrain, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Teamwork: Work as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload goods, adhering to weight and balance requirements.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
  • Payment and Receipt: Process payments for goods and receive payments from customers.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum safety.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the vehicle remains in good working condition.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring efficient communication and coordination.
  • Cargo Management: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo, including tarping and handling dangerous goods.
Certifications and Licenses
  • AZ class license
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Heavy Lifting: Handle heavy loads and equipment.
  • Overtime: Work overtime as required, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical Demands: Perform physically demanding tasks, including sitting for extended periods.
