We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at Kwanlin Dün First Nation. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, and execution of our transformative programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement detailed plans to transition Jackson Lake Healing Camp into a year-round operating facility.
- Collaborate with our team to establish strategic planning for infrastructure needs, budgetary requirements, staffing needs, communication strategies, and administrative coordination.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including community members, staff, and partners.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective program delivery.
- Education/training in project management, social services, health sciences, or a related field.
- Recent experience working in a healthcare or cultural wellness environment, projects, or initiatives (preferably with land-based programming).
- Experience in program development, including managing budgets and resource allocations.
- Experience in community engagement, including communication strategies, presentations, and facilitations.
- Knowledge of indigenous healing practices and cultural values is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Kwanlin Dün First Nation governance structure, community, heritage, and culture.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and personal transportation.
- Valid First Aid and CPR level C certification or willingness to obtain within three months of hire.
- Food Safe Level 1 certification.
- Willingness to work occasional irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Acceptable criminal records check with vulnerable sector search before commencement of employment.
The majority of this work takes place between an office environment in Whitehorse and indoors/outdoors at the Jackson Lake Healing Camp. Travel outside of the territory may be required 1-2 times per year.
