At WRHA Community Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Home Visitor 2 to join our team. As a key member of our community health services, you will play a vital role in supporting families with young children to cultivate strong parent-child relationships and promote healthy development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain trusting relationships with families, providing a safe and non-judgmental space for them to share their experiences and concerns.
  • Apply your knowledge of early childhood growth and development, effective parenting, and social factors that affect health and well-being to plan and implement services that meet the unique needs of each family.
  • Work collaboratively with Public Health Nurses and other community resources to ensure families receive comprehensive support and services.
  • Support parents in optimizing their child's developmental potential, promoting healthy nutrition, and preventive health practices.
  • Participate in weekly reflective supervision and regular meetings with PHN case managers to review individual family situations and service plans.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with families with young children (0-5 years) in areas related to parenting, required.
  • High school education or GED, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Willingness to complete Integrated Strategies and Growing Great Kids Tier 1 training within 6 months of employment.
  • Commitment to complete Growing Great Kids Tier 2 and Tier 3 training at the earliest opportunity.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Family Support Worker/Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Program, Early Childhood Educator, or other relevant education.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, web navigation, and email.
  • Fluent English reading, writing, and oral skills.
  • Understanding of Indigenous customs, experience, traditions, and values, an asset.
Physical Requirements:
  • Evening and weekend work may be required to meet client needs.
  • Physically able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 15 lbs or 6.8 kgs.
  • Physically able to climb stairs, crouch, and kneel/sit on the floor when engaging in parent-child centered activities.
  • Access to a motor vehicle suitable for all environmental conditions may be required.
