Psychiatric Nurse

The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides nursing care to patients with acute mental health challenges on the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. This is an interdisciplinary team environment that places a high emphasis on wellness, teaching patients about nutrition, exercise, medications, therapy, relapse prevention and other wellness strategies.
As a self-directed, motivated, and reliable mental health-trained nurse, you will work closely with other team members, including psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, and psychology professionals. Your strong desire to learn and adapt to new situations will be an asset in this dynamic environment.
Shifts of work are days and nights, with a range of 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00. This is a casual opportunity, with hours not guaranteed and may vary, and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions.
Located in Trail, BC, the Daly Pavilion Psychiatry Unit has 12 busy beds and provides support to ER and the hospital for mental health and addictions clients seen or admitted for other reasons. The Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is a leading healthcare provider in the region, offering a range of services and opportunities for professional growth and development.
