Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanics Instructor to join our team at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. As an Industrial Mechanics Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs to students, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the industrial mechanics trade.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs that meet the needs of students and industry partners.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, and assessments that evaluate student learning and progress.
  • Supervise students in classroom and laboratory settings, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Counsel students on academic and career-related matters, and provide referrals to relevant resources.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure training programs meet industry standards and requirements.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices, and incorporate this knowledge into training programs.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Inter-provincial Journeyperson certificate in the Industrial Mechanics trade.
  • Two years' recent/relevant post-Journeyperson experience as an Industrial Mechanic.
  • Effective instructional ability, including the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, industry partners, and colleagues.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality training programs to students.
