About the Role

This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, renovations, and repairs of a single site, including the Casino facilities, parking lots, and outside grounds. The successful candidate will ensure that building operations and construction standards are maintained throughout the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of all building systems, including electrical, mechanical, life safety, and related building systems.
  • Provide technical on-site support for construction, development, and renovation projects.
  • Manage and supervise the work of outside contractors.
  • Evaluate, prepare, and negotiate maintenance contracts for services such as HVAC, waste disposal, landscaping, and cleaning.
  • Manage and supervise the work of direct reports by leading, delegating, training, and providing feedback.
  • Ensure comprehensive preventive maintenance programs are implemented and maintained, particularly for key systems such as HVAC, UPS/genset, and elevator/escalator systems.
  • Plan, forecast expenditures, and develop an annual budget. Reconcile spending to budget on a periodic basis.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure all invoicing is processed in a timely manner.
  • Review and update maintenance records for UPS/genset, HVAC equipment, and elevator systems.
  • Develop and implement incident reports for site maintenance issues.
  • Respond immediately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in progressively senior roles of responsibility in planning, organizing, and carrying out facilities maintenance.
  • Trades certification or engineering diploma is preferred.
  • Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry/millwork, painting, and physical assets.
  • Valid provincial driver's license and good driving record.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, chiller operations, UPS, and EPS systems, and automated building and lighting control systems.
  • Proven record of excellent customer service and follow-through skills.
  • Computer knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
