Senior Manager, Agricultural Economics

As a Senior Manager, Agricultural Economics, you'll lead the proposal, planning, and delivery of agriculture research projects, including economic impact studies, cost-benefit analyses, and market studies for clients in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely delivery and financial management.
  • Manage engagement planning, scheduling, and project financials, including budgets, WIP, billing, and collection.
  • Design and develop high-quality deliverables, including reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Maintain quality control, applying specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues or key risks relevant to the client's business.
  • Network with the local business community, identifying business development opportunities and leading the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals.
  • Mentor, motivate, and coach team members, promoting professional and personal development through clear expectations, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning, developing new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

Requirements:

  • Master's or PhD in Agricultural Economics.
  • CMC, PMP, or other related certifications are considered an asset.
  • 10+ years of consulting experience, ideally in a client-service environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative economic methods and data analysis.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Advanced project management skills and tactics.
  • Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Established network within the Canadian agricultural community.
