Job Summary:

As a Product Safety Specialist at CSA Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our certification process. Under the direct supervision of a Fully Qualified Certifier, you will complete simple certification projects and make assisted technical decisions based on your knowledge, training, and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Work on projects of limited complexity, increasing in difficulty as you develop your skills and expertise.
  • Use standard engineering methods and techniques to resolve technical issues and determine the appropriate interpretation of technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with lab staff and mentors to determine applicable tests and prepare certification reports, certificates of compliance, and other related documentation.
  • Receive technical assistance from qualified technical staff and assigned mentors as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development through CSA Group's training system, including online courses and product/standard area training.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering) with 0-2 years of job-related experience.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist/Technician, Licensed Trades with 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, including operating principles and calibration procedures, as well as general laboratory procedures.
  • Additional expertise and experience may be required depending on the needs of the business unit.
