About the Role:


We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient coordination and delivery of transmission and substation projects for major utility clients.


Your Key Responsibilities:



  • Identify, escalate, and manage any matters that could pose a potential contractual and commercial risk.
  • Set objectives, define tasks for the project team, delegate authority, and agree with the project director on how risks will be shared, as necessary.
  • Actively manage the project – both technically and financially, in accordance with corporate and business policies, directives, guidance, and procedures. Protect the commercial interest of the project.
  • Facilitate communication, coordination, and information flow with the Client and within the project team, including any subcontractors and partners (internal and external).
  • Facilitate all technical documentation required for the execution of the project (technical studies, design basis, conceptual designs, detailed designs, technical specifications, field work, tender phase services, construction phase services, and record drawings).
  • Establish and maintain a climate favorable to the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of the engineering work.
  • Deliver the project to agreed targets, e.g., schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Implement rules and procedures to ensure the health and safety of employees and the environment, as well as the prevention of workplace incidents. Be proactive in identifying and improving health, safety, and environment rules and procedures to prevent potential hazards related to your work.

About the Ideal Candidate:


We are looking for an engineering professional with a broad base of engineering design and leadership experience, who is a motivated self-starter with a distinct results-based orientation combined with outstanding communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills. A project management accreditation (PMP) is an asset. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project management with experience working within a large design team is an asset.


Competitive Compensation:


Expected compensation for this role is between $122,000 - $160,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters, including skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
