Job Summary

Humber River Health is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Technologist to join our team. As a Biomedical Technologist, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment, ensuring that it is functioning properly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment, including medical, lab, diagnostic, and electronic medical equipment.
  • Conduct incoming inspections and testing on new equipment and maintain accurate records.
  • Acquire training and knowledge to repair and service new and existing medical equipment.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital quality programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain competence by participating in hospital education and departmental equipment training programs.
  • Collaborate with other Biomedical Electronics Technologists and hospital staff to ensure a safe environment for staff, visitors, and patients.
  • Preferred knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging systems and IT networks.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Community College Biomedical Engineering Technologist program or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license required for travel between hospital sites.
  • CBET Certification is an asset, but the selected candidate should be eligible to obtain it within 3 years of hiring.
  • Willing and available to attend manufacturer's training courses.
  • Good command of the English Language (both verbal and written) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 35 kg's).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
