Gameplay Animation Director

At TiMi Montreal, we're seeking a talented Gameplay Animation Director to lead our team in creating AAA, 3rd person, open-world games. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll define the artistic direction for gameplay animation, collaborating with our creative visionaries to bring our game to life.
Responsibilities- Define an artistic direction for gameplay animation that supports our overall creative vision.
- Collaborate with our leadership team to design unique, forward-thinking animation intentions that celebrate player fantasy.
- Pursue innovations in animation technology, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in animation tech.
- Uphold animation principles to ensure a cohesive, inspiring animation direction that balances form, function, and artistic style.
- Develop a network of external partners to contribute to project deliverables.
- Participate in the hiring of the animation discipline and our studio's growth.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and collective knowledge in gameplay animation.
- Direct Mocap shoots for player characters and AI characters.
- A portfolio of inspiring, industry-leading gameplay animation that demonstrates artistic vision and capacity to execute within a game.
- At least 8 years of professional AAA game development experience.
- At least two AAA, action games shipped in a leadership position.
- Capacity to iterate based on our gameplay direction.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration capabilities.
- Proven ability to define and develop gameplay animation systems.
- A team player who knows how to get the best out of everyone on the project.
