Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Specialist in Ostomy and Wound Care to join our team at SE Health.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as a member of our Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) Team in Downtown Toronto, providing specialized care to individuals with ostomies, acute and chronic wounds, and urinary and fecal continence concerns.

Responsibilities
  • Perform holistic assessments of clients with wound, ostomy, and/or continence related concerns.
  • Formulate treatment recommendations and develop plans of care for clients requiring wound, ostomy, and/or continence care.
  • Provide education and mentorship experiences to build wound, ostomy, and continence knowledge and capacity within SE Health.
  • Consult with care providers and facilitate the dissemination of wound, ostomy, and continence knowledge.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams across the continuum of care to reduce duplication of services, client anxiety, and cost.
Program Development/Leadership
  • Support quality healthcare through teaching, mentoring, program development, and quality monitoring.
  • Optimize client outcomes by reviewing Quality Improvement reports and prioritizing needs.
  • Identify nursing trends and issues related to specialty wound ostomy and continence management.
  • Develop information tools and educational initiatives for care providers.
  • Promote research-based practice and participate in research projects.
Requirements
  • Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence Canada (NSWOCC) WOC-EP program completion or international certification approved by NSWOCC.
  • Current and active membership in NSWOC Canada preferred.
  • RN with current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Flexibility and commitment to advancing wound, ostomy, and continence care at SE Health required.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including group health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP pension plan, and exclusive perks/discounts available only to SE Health staff.

Estimated Salary: $100,000 - $105,000 per year
