Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operator to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our organic processing facility, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our equipment, ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control electromechanical equipment, including pumps, presses, and valves, to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Operate SCADA systems to manage and optimize plant operations, including wastewater treatment and water quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals and objectives, including training and development of new operators.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs, including lubrication and minor adjustments, to ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Monitor and record operating conditions, observations, and data in a shift log, and report any issues or concerns to supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies, including good housekeeping practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent, with a strong background in science or technical fields.
  • At least five years of experience in a related position, with knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes and maintenance strategies.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and ability to prepare accurate and timely reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to use computer systems, including email, SCADA trending, and data retrieval.
  • Physical ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with repetitive tasks and attention to detail.
Work Environment
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, and attention to detail.
  • Work site environment: can get dusty, recycling odor.
  • Transportation/travel information: own transportation.
  • Shifts: Monday to Friday, with working hours from 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM & 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, 10:00PM - 6:30AM; shift rotation every 2 weeks.
  • On-call: could be subject to an on-call rotation on nights and weekends.
