Metro Vancouver is seeking a skilled Pipefitter (O&M) to join our Liquid Waste Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure at our Annacis and Northwest Langley Waste Water Treatment Plants.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of pipefitting jobs at the Journeyman-level, including refitting and repairs to sulphur, dioxide, and chlorine systems, alterations to existing piping systems, and installation of new ones.
- Measure, cut, thread, and install steel, stainless steel, cast iron, PVC, and other types of pipes and conduits, and test same on completion of work.
- Direct the work of assigned helpers and ensure safe working practices are adhered to at job sites.
- Plan work methods and procedures following job requirements and troubleshoot existing piping systems.
- Grade 12, plus Trades Qualification certificate.
- Ability to interpret plans and blueprints.
- Ability to work in enclosed and often dirty (sewage) areas.
- Provide own hand tools.
- Health certificate for watershed entry and valid B.C. Driver's Licence.
