About the Role

Momentum is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Worker to join our team in long-term care settings. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support and guidance to individuals with special needs.

Job Description

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for providing suicide and crisis intervention, resolving conflict situations, and supervising activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses.

You will also assist clients/guests with special needs, accompany them to appointments and social outings, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Additionally, you will evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide suicide and crisis intervention
  • Resolve conflict situations
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent oral communication skills, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, client focus, flexibility, initiative, and team player qualities.

Education and Experience

A Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required. Experience in a similar role is an asset.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
