About the Role

Altus Group is seeking a highly skilled Cost Consultant to join our Cost & Project Management division in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical expertise to deliver cost consulting services to clients in an efficient and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of cost consulting services to new and existing clients, involving a thorough understanding of construction estimation.
  • Prepare and complete trade/elemental take-offs based on design documents.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of factors influencing construction costs to pricing estimates.
  • Conduct change order analysis – interpretation, take-off, pricing, and negotiation.
  • Reconcile estimates with tenders, owner's budgets, and/or contractor's estimates.
  • Maximize the use of appropriate software and technology, including CostX, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of estimating/quantity surveying experience or contract administration in commercial real estate or a related field.
  • Working towards PQS designation or membership in CIQS/RICS or LEED accreditation.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and ethics, and client service orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong client communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Sharepoint, Excel, Word, MS Project; CostX is preferred.
