About the position:
The role of a Quality Control Inspector involves performing or assisting in various quality control and inspection tasks related to a specific discipline, ensuring all standards, codes, and regulations are met for the manufacturing process.
Key responsibilities include inspecting/reviewing product material, weld quality, fit quality, and testing to ensure compliance with code, standards, specifications, and Cambridge Pro Fab's Quality Assurance Manual. Additionally, the successful candidate will perform in-process and final inspections as stated in the Quality Assurance Manual, maintain proper records of all inspections, and become the quality lead for assigned projects. They will also work with customer quality staff, track, and report key performance indicators, ensure quality control documentation is compiled and completed in a timely manner, verify welding follows CSA and AWS specifications, and report any issues affecting production due dates and quality of manufactured products.
Required skills and qualifications include fitting and welding experience, Level 1 Welding Inspector or CWB Welding Supervisor certification, and working knowledge of CSA W47.1, W59 AWS D1.1, D1.6, and NDE inspections. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of punctuality and reliability, good attendance and performance record, knowledge of quality control procedures, blueprint reading, weld processes, record keeping, and systems, and excellent communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
