About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Automation Engineer to join our team. As a Junior Automation Engineer, you will participate in engineering mandates in automation, instrumentation, and control. You will be responsible for contributing to various phases of engineering and site work, including preparing proposals, selecting technologies, and proposing solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients;
  • Help define the scope of projects and proposals;
  • Assign and revise work by technicians and drafters assigned to the project and assess the technical scope;
  • Be involved in commissioning;
  • Define client needs and target new needs during projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in automated production engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant training;
  • From none to five years of relevant experience;
  • Member of a Canadian professional engineering association;
  • Experience in instrumentation and control design;
  • Experience in programming control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS);
  • Available to travel to and from our BBA offices in the Greater Montréal area;
  • Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client locations or sites;
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written;
  • Asset: interest or relevant experience in automation and instrumentation; participation in detailed engineering of a project in the mining or energy sectors;
  • Asset: knowledge of ABB's 800xA control platform.
