Java Software Development Engineer in Test

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and build scalable test frameworks and test suites utilizing various technologies
  2. Create, maintain, and execute automated test cases for APIs and web services
  3. Develop test automation code showcasing expertise in object-oriented design, data structures, and design patterns
  4. Implement API and web service automated tests using Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured
  5. Collaborate with QA resources to develop and execute test scripts, analyze results, and communicate findings
  6. Mentor team members on test automation best practices
  7. Provide regular progress reports to the team lead
Requirements
  1. Minimum of five years of experience in software development or test engineering
  2. At least 4 years of experience with backend automation using technologies like RESTful APIs, Web Services, Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured
  3. Proficient in Java and Core Java, with experience in API testing and writing automated tests for mobile platforms
  4. Strong knowledge of database operations, Unix commands, and scripting
  5. Familiarity with DevOps environments, including CI/CD tools like Jenkins
  6. Minimum 6 years of experience in QA
  7. Experience with Git
  8. Ability to contribute to improving QA best practices
Desirable Skills
  1. Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  2. Experience with performance and/or security testing
  3. Mobile app testing expertise on iOS and Android
  4. Web app testing experience
  5. Proficiency with tools like Appium, Selenium, and/or XCUI test

This position is based in our Vancouver office.
