Fleming College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Centre for Making Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining the campus library, organizing and maintaining the campus Shirt Shop, ordering clothing, art supplies, and textbooks, providing technical support, outreach, and administrative coordination/oversight of the Centre for Making community makerspace, and providing back-up to front-line reception.

This position requires a strong understanding of library practices and processes, as well as experience in a retail sales or marketing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

The Centre for Making Coordinator will work closely with the Centre for Making community to provide technical support, outreach, and administrative coordination. This includes maintaining the campus library, organizing and maintaining the campus Shirt Shop, and ordering clothing, art supplies, and textbooks.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of library practices and processes, as well as experience in a retail sales or marketing environment. They will also have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the campus library and ensure it is well-organized and easily accessible to students and staff.
  • Organize and maintain the campus Shirt Shop, including ordering clothing, art supplies, and textbooks.
  • Provide technical support, outreach, and administrative coordination to the Centre for Making community makerspace.
  • Provide back-up to front-line reception and assist with course registrations, promotion, and general clerical support for all areas of campus operations.

Requirements:

  • 2-year Diploma in Marketing, Visual Arts, Design, or related field.
  • Three to five years of relevant working experience, including experience in a retail sales or marketing environment and a strong understanding of library practices and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and adapt new technologies.
  • Ability to prioritize work and be flexible as needs demand.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to handle cash.
  • Understanding of common library processes and routines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
