Freshstone Brands Inc. is a leading manufacturer of high-quality prepared food products, serving the retail, foodservice, and co-manufacturing channels. Our products include branded and private label entrees, salads, sides, appetizers, hand-held foods, and other prepared foods.

We supply fresh and some frozen items to major Canadian retailers for sale behind the glass or in packaged formats in the perimeter of the store, as well as to well-known foodservice customers, and some major branded food businesses under contract.

Our manufacturing plants are SQF Level 3 certified, strategically located across Canada, giving us critical mass, and geographic proximity to the US market. We service all major Grocery, Mass, Club, and Food Service customers in Canada either directly or through distributor and broker relationships.

Culinary Innovation Role

The Product Developer – Culinary Innovation Supervisor will contribute to business objectives and strategic product development by leading culinary innovation, recipes formulation, concepts creation, and execution. They will evaluate and improve existing product lines to enhance quality and maximize efficiencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting formulating analysis and testing new products to meet customer requirements.
  • Building direct relationships with vendors, food service, and private label customers.
  • FOLLOWING THE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS INCLUDING ALL DOCUMENTATION PROCEDURES.
  • Providing technical information and support to cross-functional team members as required.
  • Participating in the evaluation and commissioning of new technology, production lines, and/or related equipment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Food Technology or higher.
  • Culinary diploma, culinary education, or commercial kitchen experience will be an additional asset.
  • 3-5 years of product development experience, preferably with consumer packaged or food service packaged products.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in food manufacturing.

Salary Information

This role comes with a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth and development within our company.
