We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our team at Alberta Health Services in Red Deer. As an Industrial Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment in accordance with building codes, blueprints, standards, and practices.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience as an Industrial Mechanic with similar experience on systems found within a healthcare facility. You should have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work well in a team atmosphere, and strive to perform at a high level while ensuring the safety of yourself and others.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform preventative and repair maintenance on critical building systems and equipment.
  • Maintain and update records of repair and service, manuals, diagrams, record drawings, and documentation related to our computerized maintenance management system.
  • Conduct inventory checks for consumable items, sourcing out parts, and completing purchase requisitions to attain parts required for repair.
  • Participate in the review, updating, and creation of new safe work procedures for day-to-day tasks.

As an Industrial Mechanic, you will work independently and as part of a team to ensure the continuous operation of our facilities' equipment. You will also participate in daily safety toolbox meetings and monthly safety meetings.

We are offering a competitive salary of $$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement savings plan.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
  • A Class 5 Driver's License.
  • 10 years' experience in Trade in a Maintenance/Preventative Maintenance role.
  • Proficient with a Computerized Maintenance Program and other computer programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to understand schematics, blueprints, and specifications, understand and comply with Fire and Building Codes, the role of CSA Standards, WHMIS, and OH&S.
