Job Title: Web Developer/Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Developer/Designer to join our team at Thompson Rivers University. As a key member of our Marketing & Communications team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing web strategies that enhance the user experience and accessibility of our web properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop responsive web solutions that meet current industry standards in communication design, accessibility, and usability.
  • Develop and maintain web design standards, style guides, and user manuals for web development and interface design.
  • Utilize data to support evidence-based enhancements to content, information architecture, and design using website analytics, competitive analyses, usability, and focus group feedback.
  • Design and execute marketing and communications campaigns and strategies.
  • Analyze customer needs to design and implement technical solutions in line with department and university goals.
  • Maintain a high level of quality customer service standards in dealing with and responding to questions and problems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Five (5) years' related experience, including graphic user interface design, hand coding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Sublime Text, and other modern web development tools.
  • Maintaining websites and applications that use PHP utilizing MySQL.
  • Using Google Analytics.
