About the Role:
The City of Maple Ridge is currently looking for an experienced Aquatic Operations Manager to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in the management and coordination of our aquatic programs at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre and the seasonal Hammond Outdoor Pool.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aquatic leadership and customer service, with the ability to lead and support a large aquatics staff team. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include developing and implementing aquatic programs, managing pool operations, and supervising staff and volunteers. The successful candidate will also have the ability to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and take initiative when necessary.
Key Qualifications:- Grade 12 education and completion of a post-secondary certificate program in a related field, plus aquatic leadership experience
- Sound knowledge of the theory and practices of lifesaving, NLS standards, Water Safety Instructor standards, CPR, first aid, and teaching techniques pertaining to aquatics
- Strong background in aquatic leadership and customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
