Canada Metro Supply Chain Full time

Metro Supply Chain: A Leader in Supply Chain Solutions

At Metro Supply Chain, we are a strategic supply chain partner to some of the world's fastest-growing and most reputable organizations. For over 50 years, we have excelled at tailoring integrated data-driven solutions, fueled by advanced systems and technology, that fulfill complex distribution needs.

We manage 19 million square feet across over 175 sites in North America and Europe with a team of 9,000, making us one of Canada's largest privately owned supply chain solution companies. Our commitment to innovation and people has earned us the 2024 winner of the Canada's Best Managed Companies program.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity combines the analytical skills of a Business Systems Analyst with the hands-on expertise of a WMS Consultant and the strategic vision of a Solution Architect. As a Warehouse Optimization Specialist, you will focus on configuring, optimizing, and supporting the Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System (WMS) to meet our logistics, warehousing, and supply chain objectives.

You will work closely with our clients, operational sites, and user community to ensure we provide the best possible solution and support. Your role will be essential in analyzing business needs, implementing Blue Yonder solutions, and architecting scalable WMS solutions to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and support our company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis & Solution Design: Conduct in-depth analysis of warehousing, distribution, and logistics requirements, translating these needs into detailed functional specifications and systems design for the Blue Yonder WMS.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project requirements, identify system capabilities, and document business processes that can be enhanced through the WMS.
  • Design Blue Yonder WMS configurations and architecture that align with company goals, ensuring scalability and adherence to industry best practices.
  • System Implementation & Configuration: Lead the implementation and customization of the Blue Yonder WMS, including setup, configuration, and testing.
  • Oversee and participate in integration efforts between Blue Yonder WMS and other key systems, including ERP, TMS, and order management systems.
  • Customize and fine-tune Blue Yonder modules and configurations to align with business workflows and optimize for efficiency, accuracy, and speed.
  • Solution Architecture & System Optimization: Design and implement system solutions that improve warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and productivity.
  • Architect and implement advanced WMS features, including automation for inventory management, order picking, shipping, receiving, and reverse logistics.
  • Continuously assess and adjust the system architecture to ensure it meets future business needs and integrates seamlessly with evolving technology solutions.
  • Support & Continuous Improvement: Provide post-implementation support, troubleshooting, and enhancements to maintain high system performance and user satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the WMS to increase warehouse efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the Blue Yonder WMS, staying current with the latest BY features and enhancements, and advising on best practices.
  • Training & Documentation: Develop and deliver training sessions for superusers, ensuring they are proficient in using the Blue Yonder WMS.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including user guides, technical configurations, process flows, and architectural diagrams.
  • Engage in knowledge transfer to internal teams, empowering them to handle basic troubleshooting and system maintenance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a bridge between IT, operations, and external vendors to align WMS configurations with broader business strategies.
  • Conduct periodic reviews with stakeholders to assess performance, gather feedback, and identify areas for system or process improvements.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with Blue Yonder WMS or similar warehouse management systems, including implementation and configuration.
  • Experience with business systems analysis, solution design, and/or solution architecture within the supply chain or logistics environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional project management and business process analysis.
  • Experience in industries such as 3PL, retail, e-commerce, or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience with Azure, Power BI, or other data analysis and reporting tools is an asset.

Tech Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Blue Yonder WMS modules, including inventory control, order fulfillment, picking/packing, shipping, and receiving.
  • Familiarity with integration protocols and tools, including API, EDI, and SQL for data management and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Blue Yonder configuration tools, business logic, and system architecture for customizing solutions.

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and lead initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Ability to travel.
