Your Opportunity:
Alberta Health Services is seeking a dependable and organized individual to join their Environmental Services team as a cleaner/housekeeper. As an Environmental II, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in clinical and non-clinical areas. Your responsibilities will include performing a range of cleaning services, operating industrial cleaning equipment, and providing training/orientation to Environmental staff.
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of staff, volunteers, patients, and families by creating a safe and healthy environment. As an Environmental Services II, you will be responsible for intensive or specialized cleaning within a hospital or facility, using industrial cleaning supplies and powered equipment. Your duties may include operating floor maintenance equipment, washing ceilings and windows, and emptying hazardous waste.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent
- Knowledge and operation of a computer, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs of force
Preferred Qualifications:
General knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods, good interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format.
