Financial Operations Specialist

This role plays a key part in managing day-to-day financial operations. As our ideal candidate, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring your knowledge of bookkeeping principles to support our company's success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Record financial transactions such as purchases, expenses, sales, invoices, and payments.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including matching, coding, and preparing invoices.
- Manage bank and credit card reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Prepare GST/HST returns and other government remittances.
- Assist in preparing monthly and year-end financial reports for review by management or external accountants.
- Maintain payroll records and support payroll processing as needed.
- Monitor cash flow and provide regular updates to management.
- Support the budgeting process and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with relevant federal and provincial regulations, including tax filings.

Requirements:
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience (or equivalent experience in accounts payable/receivable).
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GST/HST reporting requirements and payroll processes.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
