Job Overview

Reports to: Foreman, Welding Shop
Shift: 14 x 14, 12 hours per shift, rotational between days and nights
Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform welding and repair work on mining equipment, both in the field and in the shop
  • Proficiency in GMAW, FCAW, SMAW welding processes and all sizes of weld wire
  • Conduct maintenance and repair work at client sites, adhering to company quality standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate work
  • Operate oxy/fuel cutting equipment and electric welding machines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Ensure personal and coworker safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Certified Journeyman welder qualified to work in Alberta
  • Preference for dual-ticketed Journeyman - welding and machining
  • 3-7 years of welding experience
  • No restrictions for access to any mine site
  • Experience with repair of mine equipment, including trucks and shovels
  • Line boring/machining experience and ability to build up bores requiring repair
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in field and shop environments
  • NDT or CWB certification or experience is an asset
  • Heat treatment experience and history of welding with 3/32 wire are assets
  • Safety courses completed
  • P&H mechanical experience is an advantage
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License
