About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Patient Care Aide to join the team at Heiltsuk Hospital in Bella Bella, BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care duties for acute care, residential care, and emergency department patients.
- Perform duties that include feeding, personal hygiene, and transporting patients, as well as clerical duties such as assembling and maintaining patient charts and transcribing doctors' orders.
- Clean, sterilize, assemble, wrap, and/or label instruments, equipment, and/or linen, and perform related clerical duties.
- Stock medical/surgical and emergency ward supplies as required.
About the Team
The Heiltsuk Hospital team consists of Physicians, RNs, LPNs, PCAs, Laboratory and Radiology Technologists, Combined Lab/X-Ray Technologists, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Assistants, and Support Services Personnel.
Qualifications
- Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Current CPR (Level C).
