We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Educational Program Assistant. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students.

Compensation Package

The starting annual salary for this position is $35,817.70, which includes 4% vacation pay. The salary increases annually in accordance with the Collective Agreement, and rates are based on a five-step scale.

Job Summary

The Educational Program Assistant provides support to teachers and students in various educational settings. This role requires a high level of flexibility, adaptability, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with lesson plans and instructional activities
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient work environment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution, including a formal practicum placement
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Light and medium lifting abilities (up to 50 pounds)
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Ability to use Assistive Technology
  • Willingness to be trained in Toileting, Personal Care, Seizure Management, and Behaviour Management Support

This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar, which includes time off at Christmas, March Break, and Summer break. You will be paid every two weeks with the annual salary paid across 12 months (August 1st to July 31st) for working a 10-month school year.
