Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate will be compensated at $58,345.64 per annum (as per Union salary grid), prorated to contract duration. We offer an excellent benefits package, RRSP matching program, and Employee & Family Assistance Program.
Job Description
- Provide culturally sensitive employment services, including intake and assessment, one-to-one and group employment counseling, and referrals.
- Facilitate workshops to prepare clients to market themselves to employers and find/maintain employment.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community organizations and partners to make appropriate referrals.
- Maintain an active caseload, including file management responsibilities.
- Advocate on behalf of clients whenever necessary, including support in areas of employment, skills training, social assistance, and equitable access to services.
- Meet monthly statistical requirements and maintain professional information tracking systems.
- Conduct needs assessments and career testing in individual/group settings.
- Provide professional support to clients using ACCES resource services.
- Market ACCES services and clients to private/public sector employers to place clients in jobs.
- Participate as an equal member of an employment consulting team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A post-secondary education in Career and Work Counseling, Social Services, Adult Education, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in supporting job seekers facing complex barriers, including PWDs, newcomers, and individuals from diverse groups.
- Previous experience with Employment Ontario and/or Integrated Employment Services is an asset.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and self-management to work effectively with clients, co-workers, agencies, and employers.
- Knowledge of job search and career development, labour market trends, and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct outreach/marketing of clients and services to employers.
- Experience with case management and ideally file management.
- Presentation and facilitation skills.
- MS Office environment familiarity; online platforms and database management programs.
- Online facilitation experience is a strong asset.
