About the RoleThis is a permanent position with a 35-hour workweek, offering a competitive salary and benefits package. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong commitment to providing excellent patient care and possess excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and monitor patients' responses
- Apply aseptic techniques and sterile dressing to prevent infection
- Conduct specimen collection and ensure accurate recording of results
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including preparing patients for surgery and assisting with recovery
- Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, ensuring patients receive optimal care
- Assist surgeons during procedures, maintaining a safe and organized operating environment
- Certification as a licensed practical nurse (L.P.N.) in the province/territory of work
- Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
- CPR Certificate and First Aid Certification
- Eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
- Competitive salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience
- Dental plan, health care plan, and vision care benefits
