As an Optical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining prescription records, preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies, and performing general clerical duties. You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining the cleanliness of collection areas, processing files and paperwork, scheduling and confirming appointments, organizing and maintaining inventory, requisitioning or ordering materials, equipment, and supplies, making minor adjustments and repairs, and arranging for grinding or polishing of lenses or grinding and polishing lenses. You will obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. This is a permanent position with a 30 to 35 hour workweek. The language of work is English. If you are accurate, a client-focused individual with efficient interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team, we encourage you to apply.
