Job Title: Data Analyst

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing business information requirements and translating these requirements into conceptual and logical data models.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with business units, departments, and clients to analyze business information requirements and develop data infrastructure that supports the business.
  2. Specify and support the implementation of IT infrastructure requirements for databases with operational teams.
  3. Develop and maintain data architecture and data models at the conceptual and logical levels.
  4. Establish and maintain relationships with outsourcing partners and/or vendors to support the implementation of database designs into physical databases.
  5. Develop and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) reporting to address business decision support requirements.
  6. Identify data ownership issues across the enterprise and participate in the development of data architecture, policies, standards, and guidelines.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration from a recognized program.
  2. Five (5) years recent, related experience.
  3. Knowledge of business systems analysis, conceptual and logical data models, and database design.
  4. Ability to manage medium to large database design and implementation projects.
  5. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  6. Ability to analyze business requirements and make sound judgments.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  8. Ability to facilitate groups, make presentations, and effectively resolve conflict.
