About the Role

Aecon Utilities is seeking a highly skilled CAD/GIS Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our utility construction team, you will be responsible for supervising all facets of overhead and underground telecommunication design drafting for our existing and perspective Utility clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of CAD and GIS professionals in the design and drafting of telecommunication infrastructure
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal construction forces
  • Oversee the quality control of drawings and electronic images
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Review and analyze project data to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Develop and implement training programs for junior staff
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within the utility engineering/construction industry
  • Advanced computer skills with a variety of software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, MS Access
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment
