About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Application Development to join our team at Gildan Yarns. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for leading the development team and ensuring the successful implementation of our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate development requirements among the development team to ensure project timelines are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Apply Gildan's software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology and standards for programming and documentation.
  • Validate the stability and integrity of our ERP system and connected applications, including label printing, document layouts, and archiving.
  • Identify interface risks and ensure ERP security.
  • Monitor transaction processing efficiency and create tools for proactive incident management.
  • Support all phases of implementation for small and large projects, including pre- and post-implementation activities.
  • Manage a team of professionals, train, and mentor team members to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience and at least 5 years of ERP experience (JD Edwards World or E1 is an asset).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a management role and leading a team of professionals.
  • Good understanding of business processes.
  • Knowledge of IBM Iseries machines (AS400) and DB2 is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex problems.
  • Ability to mentor the team in all development phases, including functional and technical documentation.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with all IT groups of the organization.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and drive change within the team.
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and SOX compliance rules.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced growth environment.
  • Project management skills are an asset.
  • Able to travel worldwide for a few weeks per year, depending on projects.
  • Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Written and oral skills in English (French and/or Spanish are assets).
