Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a certified fitness professional to lead and instruct groups and individuals in various fitness programs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in fitness instruction and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and instruct groups and individuals in fitness programs, including aquatics and land-based activities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and course outlines according to curriculum guidelines
  • Provide information and guidance on lifestyle awareness and wellness
  • Monitor the fitness equipment and facility to ensure safety and provide emergency assistance when required
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain accurate administrative records, including attendance forms and class lists
  • Respond to questions and general enquiries from the public and program participants
  • Monitor the performance levels of participants during program activities
  • Manage the set-up and tear down of program equipment
Qualifications
  • Current fitness certification, such as Personal Training (PTS) or Group Fitness Instructor (FIS)
  • Additional specialized certifications, such as Aqua Spin or Pilates Instructor Certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of instructional/program delivery experience in a related field
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR C Certification
  • High Five Training an asset
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, at various locations. The incumbent shall comply with all health and safety policies and practices for this position and the workplace.
