About the Role
Fraser Health Authority is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Specialist - Clinical Development. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse who wants to consolidate their skills and contribute to the development of clinical practices.
Job Description
- The successful candidate will work closely with our interprofessional care team to develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care programs.
- Responsibilities include assessing patients, collecting information from various sources, making nursing diagnoses, and determining the best course of action.
- The nurse will also collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers in developing care plans and encourage family participation in the development, implementation, and ongoing modification of the care plan.
- This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Collaboration with members of the interprofessional care team, including physicians, licensed practical nurses, patient care coordinators, and clinical nurse educators, is essential.
- The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach patients and families/caregivers about topics essential to their health care and well-being.
- Documentation of assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals is crucial.
- This role may involve participating on nursing committees, care conferences, and councils as assigned or agreed upon with the Manager.
- Participation in research and quality improvement activities is also expected.
- Maintaining current clinical competence and knowledge within the area of practice is essential.
- Other related duties as required may be assigned.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of post-graduate specialty nursing courses or willingness to complete them.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
