Job Summary

As a Sales Associate at Canadian Tire - Penticton, BC (Store 351), you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while working in a fast-paced retail environment. This role involves interacting with customers, explaining product benefits, and fulfilling customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers entering the store.
  • Smile, make eye contact, and greet customers.
  • Guide customers to the location of requested items.
  • Locate products in the warehouse.
  • Answer questions and provide friendly advice and services to customers.
  • Suggest value-added and related products to customers.
  • End discussions with customers using a closing statement.
  • Respond to and handle customer inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Handle multiple customers effectively and efficiently.
  • Deal with challenging situations in a professional manner.
  • Learns about new products on a regular basis.
  • Keep up to date with in-store promotions, deals, and product locations.
Requirements
  • Basic math and typing skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision with computerized systems.
  • Experience in a customer service role and/or with Canadian Tire store is considered an asset.
  • Ability to operate a cash register is an asset.
Working Conditions

In compliance with the store's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures:

  • Standing/walking for 8 hours.
  • Lifting and/or carrying of merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent, and unassisted basis.
  • Lifting and turning repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Lifting above the shoulder, from floor to shoulder, and floor to waist.
  • Ability to go up and down a ladder while carrying merchandise.
  • Walking and carrying things at the same time and pushing/pulling, as required.
