Position Summary
Are you interested in a career that combines compassion and professionalism? As a Registered Care Aide with Northern Health, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team to provide exceptional care to our elderly residents.

In this role, you will work under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or other designate to assist in the delivery of client care in accordance with established policies, standards, and procedures.

**Shift Rotation/Hours of Work:** Days - 07:30 to 13:30 rotating

**About Mountainview Lodge:**
Mountainview Lodge is a single-level building attached to the Kitimat General Hospital & Health Centre. The building is situated within walking distance of physicians' offices. There are 36 beds, three designated for respite and three short stay beds. There is a monthly recreational calendar displaying a variety of activities intended to promote physical, social, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Hairdresser and barber services are available onsite. Hairdresser services are available for a fee determined by the Kitimat Hospital Auxiliary. Mountainview Lodge also provides an on-site integrated community adult day program.

**About Kitimat:**
Kitimat is a beautiful and natural ocean, mountain, and valley paradise, located on the Douglas Channel just a few miles off British Columbia's inside passage. Kitimat was built in the 1950s and is one of BC's youngest coastal communities. Main industries include an aluminum smelter, a pulp and paper mill, and a petrochemical manufacturer. The population of Kitimat is approximately 8,236. The community has three elementary schools, two secondary schools, and one post-secondary school.

Qualifications:
Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience and registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
