Teaching Opportunity in French Immersion

We are seeking a qualified French Immersion teacher to join our team at School District No. 48 (Sea to Sky). As a French Immersion teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students in the Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton areas.

About the Role

This is an on-call position, requiring flexibility and adaptability. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to design and implement interdisciplinary instructional approaches that cater to diverse learning needs. Your expertise in French Immersion language instruction and familiarity with the BC Curriculum, Student Performance Standards, and the BC Early Learning framework will be valuable assets in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement French Immersion curriculum that aligns with district goals and standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create inclusive and supportive learning environments
  • Use technology to enhance teaching and learning, including planning, attendance monitoring, and communication
  • Mentor students in reflecting on their personal interests and strengths in relation to emerging career-life opportunities
  • Support the School Improvement Plan and District goals through Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing, and the Four Blankets of Resilience
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate, university training, or its equivalent, and successful teaching experience. Familiarity with French Immersion language instruction and the BC Curriculum is essential. Bilingualism is also required.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $308.29 per day to $472.91 per day, based on category as assigned by the Teachers' Qualification Service (TQS) and previous teaching experience.
