Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have recent critical care nursing experience and be committed to lifelong learning. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for providing excellent care to our patients and contributing to the development of clinical pathways.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide patient-focused care within the RN scope of practice, based on the three-factor framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Function in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, including emergency codes.
- Ensure that practice is consistent with entry to practice competencies, standards of practice, guidelines, and legislation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team.
- Practice collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to provide elements of care for patients/clients with complex health issues.
- Provide consultation and/or clinical support to peers as needed.
- Contribute to the assessment and documentation of each patient's health status on an ongoing basis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care and evaluates its ongoing effectiveness.
- Acts as a role model and champion to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.
- Assumes charge nurse role when assigned.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pathways.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Three (3) to five (5) years' recent critical care nursing experience or Critical Care Certificate.
- ACLS preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork.
- Demonstrated individual leadership skills.
Critical Care Sponsorship Qualifications:
- Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years' of recent medical and/or surgical nursing experience preferred.
- BCLS current certification.
- Current ACLS preferred.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Innovative and willing to learn.
